Safe checks before you call

Beyond these basics, leave refrigerant, gas, and internal electrical components to a technician.
Frequently asked questions
My thermostat screen is blank — what should I check first?
Try fresh batteries if it uses them, and check the breaker for the furnace or air handler, which often shares power with the thermostat.
Why does my smart thermostat keep losing connection?
This is usually a home Wi-Fi or router issue rather than the thermostat itself, though a weak signal location can also be a factor.
Can a bad thermostat cause the whole system to stop working?
Yes. A miswired or failed thermostat can prevent the furnace or AC from ever getting the signal to start, which looks like a much bigger problem than it is.
Do you travel to Weddington for HVAC service?
